1. The concentrator treats the serum by separating the aqueous part.
2. The recovered water is reused for washing systems and exteriors.
3. The lactose from the concentrated whey ferments in the anaerobic digester generating biogas (point 4).
4. The biogas feeds a cogenerator that produces electrical and thermal energy.
5. The electricity obtained is used for the dairy's self-consumption, while the heat from the cogenerator produces the hot water needed for processing.
6. The residual liquids are disposed of via a purifier.
7. Part of the process waste becomes fertilizer.
